Eco Lodge Design Competition
In April of 2001, the Ministry of Tourism of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, and the InterAmerican Development Bank (IDB), sponsored a competition for the design of an Ecolodge facility that would serve as an example of the principles of sustainable design as applied to nature-based tourism in the Bahamas and the Caribbean.
The following is the entry proposed by N & M Architects Limited in response to the conditions and requirements of the competition.

Floor plan, elevation and perspective drawings of a typical cabin unit.
- Main Lodge Building
The main lodge building comprising of the reception area, front desk, managers office, retail store for craft items, a learning center for small groups. And upstairs is the restaurant and bar, with kitchen and restroom facilities.
- Other points of interest
The design incorporates a bird watching tower, bridges and trails through the mangroves. Other facilities for recreation are sea kayaks, scuba diving facilities and an adjacent beach and several isolated cays.
